Building Legacy Together is a 12-week cohort-based program designed specifically for Black parents and caregivers in Hamilton. The program focuses on strengthening families, supporting caregiver wellness, and building intergenerational resilience through culturally affirming education and community connection. Participants engage in a hybrid model, combining in-person group sessions with online learning and reflection, making the program accessible while maintaining strong relational support. Program Focus: Supporting Black parents and caregivers in navigating stress, parenting, and systemic barriers Strengthening family systems and intergenerational wellness Reducing isolation and burnout among caregivers Building practical life, communication, and leadership skills Core Components: Weekly or bi-weekly in-person gatherings Online learning modules and guided reflections Facilitated discussions rooted in cultural strengths Wellness practices aligned with the 8 Dimensions of Wellness Peer support and community relationship-building Impact Building Legacy Together creates safe, affirming spaces where Black caregivers feel seen, supported, and empowered. The program helps families build long-term stability, improve well-being, and strengthen their capacity to support the next generation.
