Dear CCI Family,

Welcome to our October newsletter. This season, we’re celebrating the connections, care, and collective action that help our community thrive. Inside, you’ll find a message from our Executive Director, a look at upcoming events, and a chance to recognize the people who make this work possible.

A Message from the Executive Director

As we move into a new season, I want to express my sincere gratitude to every individual, family, volunteer, community partner, and supporter who continues to believe in the vision of Community Catalyst Initiative.

At CCI, we believe meaningful change begins with connection. When people feel heard, valued, supported, and empowered, we strengthen not only individuals, but also families and communities—and create opportunities for future generations.

In recent months, we’ve brought our community together through wellness initiatives, meaningful conversations, our community BBQ, and our Wellness Appreciation Dinner. Each gathering reminds us why this work matters: we’re nurturing relationships, celebrating resilience, and building a community rooted in belonging, cultural pride, and collective responsibility.

Our commitment to Black parents, caregivers, youth, and families remains at the heart of everything we do. Through Building Legacies Together and our holistic approach to the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, we recognize that well-being includes emotional, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, environmental, and financial health.

Looking ahead, our focus is on creating sustainable opportunities, strengthening partnerships, amplifying community voices, and making today’s work a foundation for generations to come.

To our partners, volunteers, supporters, and the families and individuals who share their experiences: thank you. Your voices, stories, and contributions are the heartbeat of this initiative.

We are not just building programs. We are building people, strengthening communities, and creating legacies. Together, we will keep turning connection into action—and action into lasting impact.

With gratitude and purpose,

Horace Spence, RSSW
